Waiter Offered Nursing Job After Sweet Gesture

Joe Thomas has been a waiter at an IHOP in Illinois for over 10 years and his passion for his job has gone viral.

For years out of Joe's decade long involvement with IHOP, a disabled woman and her husband have been loyal customers and have always made sure that they were sat at one of Joe's tables. The couple had built a relationship with the waiter and Joe has since helped feed the wife her meal since her medical status hinders her from being able to do it herself. Joe said that he had always seen the couple eating together and while the husband would feed his wife, he thought it would be nice if he stepped in to help so the husband could have a break.

A bystander snapped a sweet photo of Joe and the couple during their regular mealtime and the internet has been taken by storm by Joe's thoughtfulness!

"It felt good, but at the same time I was like I really don't care for the recognition to much because it's just something that should automatically be done regardless," Joe told News Channel 20 when they covered the story.

The news coverage isn't the only recognition that Joe has received for his good deed though! Joe told the news source that since this photo has gone viral, he has been offered a job in the nursing field.
