A woman revealed that she has a very unusual phobia, which has often made her life very difficult.
The women revealed on a UK morning show that she suffers from a disorder known as chionoandrophobia. For those who aren't familiar with the phobia, those who suffer from it essentially react strongly to snow and other wintry conditions. The mere thought of a little snowfall can make people quite anxious.
The word contains 'chiono' meaning snow, and 'andro' meaning man or masculine, so 'chionoandrophobia' is the fear of snowmen.
While talking toThis Morning in 2011, the woman sat with Nik and Eva Speakman and they tried to get to the bottom of the fear in order to help her confront it and to overcome it.
The woman explained to the hosts that she was tired of walking down the streets in fear of something so small she says she just wants it gone.
In an attempt to help the poor guest overcome her fear, they hired someone to dress in a snowman costume and greet her in hopes of her overcoming her fear. Unfortunately it didn't go well, with the guest immediately turning away from the snowman, hiding her face, and starting to cry.
