I suggest you listen to this song as the background music to this post.

So when I am wrote this, it was raining and very dreary outside. This type of weather (especially in the summer) always, without fail, makes me remencence about my favorite scene from my favorite television show of ALL TIME, The O.C.

As a 13 year old girl, my entire life was basically revolved around this television show. I picked out outfits based off what my favorite characters (Summer & Marissa) were wearing. If at all possible (and affordable) I would beg my momma to buy me their exact clothes. I bought the music they played on the show, I watched reruns obsessively over and over again and of course I day dreamed that I would one day find my Seth Cohen.

When they killed off my Marissa I cried and when the show was cancelled I was devastated. I actually went through the four stages of grief; denial, anger, sadness and (eventually) acceptance.

I don’t think about the show very often these days, but if there is ever a day I think about the show it’s is when its raining. “The Rainy Day Woman,” as it is titled, is my favorite episode. In this episode our beautiful disaster Marissa tells her crazy mom that she is a lesbian and moves in with her girlfriend. Bad boy Ryan is heartbroken when his foster moms half sister (who he is romantically involved with) decides to move to Chicago. And Summer continues to break Seths heart when she refuses to take him back and prepares to go to Italy with her new boyfriend (can’t remember his name, he wasn’t that important).

That is until this happens...

By the way, if you Google “Seth and Summer Hot Kiss In The Rain Video” this is what comes up first.

Gah! Why has this not happened to me yet! I’ve been waiting eight years!

Well as you can see, Summer had a change of heart and took Seth back and this happened.  I’m still waiting for this to happen. I realize it is extremely illogical and would require like a harness and rope (among other things), but one day this will happen.

Until then I’ll just keep watching over and over again.

Let’s talk about The O.C. Tweet me @alipannoni
