It's never a good sign when you pull up to your place of work to find 3 fire trucks and fire fighters all over the front of the building. That was the scene here just a bit ago. I had to walk up 6 flights of stairs to get up here too so I guess that means I don't have to work out later tonight, right?

I can't wait for Halloween next weekend. The leaves are starting to peak and fall and making the DC area all festive. We're going to pick pumpkins tomorrow. I just can't wait for next weekend!

Here's a little Halloween video my sister made of me and my family and I thought I'd share it with you, it makes me laugh every time I watch it.

Anyway so today is so blah out that it got me into the mood to bake. I made a batch of brownies Halloweenies style. I used just a regular old box of brownie mix and added some chopped up candy bars from my trick-or-treating stash and mixed them in. I took 10 mini sized candies, the tiny tiny tiny ones, the bite sized ones and chopped them up and then mixed them into my ooey gooey batter and man were those brownies tasty. I used Milky Ways and Snickers. You could use anything, just keep in mind if it's got a cookie or crisp in it, give those crumbles a toss in some flour so they don't sink down to the bottom of you pan leaving you with a disappointing mess.

Have I mentioned how excited I am for Halloween? We have a party to go to Friday night and then Saturday we're handing out candy at our new house for the first time and then we may go down to our friends party in Burke. We'll see. What I'm mostly excited for is on Saturday is that we're decorating the house up. I have decorations for the front windows and I have a scary pumpkin man, a spooky skeleton and some super annoying strobe lights that are going to spoke my house!!! I have some bloody hand prints and some faux tombstones, it's going to be super awesome. I have more details on over at our house blog you can check that out right here.
